CAD Drafting Services Integrates AI-Powered Coordinate Verification

CDS launches a new coordinate verification tool inside our Revit workflows to automatically check anchor placements and model coordinates.

In our continuous pursuit of technical excellence, CAD Drafting Services (CDS) has developed and integrated a proprietary, AI-powered coordinate verification system into our production workflow. This software utility scans active Revit models in real-time, verifying project coordinates, base points, and anchor placements against original survey datasets.

Solving the Coordinate Drift Problem

One of the most common issues in collaborative BIM is coordinate drift—where overlapping MEP, structural, or facade files drift by millimeters due to manual input errors. If undetected, this leads to spatial clashes during Navisworks coordination.

Key features of the new AI tool:

  • Automatic Survey Comparison: Cross-references Revit survey points with original DWG/point cloud coordinates.
  • Real-time Clashing Alerts: Notifies modelers immediately if elements cross clearance buffers.
  • Automated Shared Coordinates Export: Export XML coordinate maps for seamless trade coordination.

By automating this quality audit step, CDS reduces the time spent on coordination cycles by 25% while maintaining absolute LOD 350-400 modeling precision.
